Hopefully you saw our post last week with these adorable t-shirts Ellen found for us.  We loved pairing a graphic tee with our sequins for a whimsical look; but for every day, we also never pass up an opportunity to throw on a favorite logo tee with jeans and a blazer for a classic look.

Here I’ve opted for my favorite summer go-to white jeans.  The skinny “Rockstar”cut from Old Navy.  They nail it with these jeans every time and I have them in black, white, blue and camo.  I feel like a Rockstar in them!

Then I pulled this statement jacket by Etro I found a couple years ago at Moss Designer Consignment.  If you know me, you know Etro is in my top 5 favorite designers.  I love their use of print and color.  I’ve worn this jacket with regular jeans and my black Luccheses with white stitching for a western flair; as well as a black and white buffalo checked pencil skirt from Banana Republic with a sunshine yellow Trina Turk blouse for a creative take on business attire.  Remember, I love mixing prints, and by playing off the black and white in the jacket, I’m able to pair it up with other black and white patterns without the look wearing me.

Bottom line – if don’t have a statement jacket, you need one.  And if you have one, mix it up!  Don’t get caught in the trap of thinking you can only wear it occasionally because it’s so memorable.  You can stick it in your regular rotation with different outfits and it takes on a whole new life with every look.  Call it the chameleon…
