The Fashionator Series celebrates the modern woman or man who embraces life with impeccable style.
We had our first Fashionator event with Heather Willison, Managing Director and Founding Member of Beautycounter. On the invite, we described her as: Mom, Wife, Educator, Leader, but IRL she is so much more than that. Not only are we lucky enough to call her a day one fan of our little blog project, but I am lucky enough to call her a dear friend. She was one of the first people that I admitted that I wanted to start a fashion blog for women in their 40’s and the support she gave me made me feel as if I could actually do it.
The event was filled with quite a few women ready to shop Rags’ curated selection of consigned goodies that include designer and high street brands. With ACL Fest on everyone’s mind, the event had a festival fashion vibe, featuring looks from our host, as well as a Braid and Beachy Waves Bar provided by Craig Piatti Salon. Attendees tried on a lot of items and one attendee even bought a dress I had consigned which resulted in more credit for me to shop with – score! Ritual Austin provided the most amazing grazing board that guests enjoyed while sipping bubbly. Cataleya London displayed their luxury handbags and Sips & Snapshots took snaps of the party guests. Natalie Martin, @stylingnat won the $100 gift card to Rags for following the AFL Instagram account.
A great time was had by all, but the highlight of the evening was the discussion on work, life, motherhood, balancing it all and feeling your best while doing it that I had with Heather! We will be publishing a transcript of our conversation next week! But for nowm enjoy pictures from our event!

Shelley Mac first hit the airwaves in 2006 with her New Zealand band, Pearl. Her debut album received critical acclaim with her hit single, “Life is Beautiful,” reaching number 1 on the New Zealand radio charts.
