This weekend was the perfect weekend to break out my new dress from & Other Stories. Since I put so much time and energy in what I am wearing during the week, I tend to take a break on the weekends (plus #boymom, and my boys probably prefer it when I am in shorts and tees like they are). This last weekend, however, was a very fun exception.
The first dress, although on the darker side, still feels appropriate for the season. The yellow and white almost ombre pattern of flowers, the flowy skirt and deep v-neck made it bearable in the Texas summer heat as well. Speaking of Texas, I paired it with my favorite cowboy boots from Ganni. I just scored my second pair on the recent Shopbop sale and I love them. The black Prada purse is very special to me as it is the first designer purchase I made for myself on eBay. I will never get rid of it (I used to say I am saving it for my future daughter, but we all know how that turned out…..). This is a dress that I had been stalking for a while and I grabbed it the minute it went on sale. I love shorter dresses with longer sleeves to combat the intense temperatures outside and the near frigid a/c temps inside. It was perfect for dinner and drinks on Saturday night.
I followed the same formula for a brunch birthday celebration for a girlfriend on Sunday. A floral & Other Stories dress with long sleeves and short hemline. The colors and pattern are fun, so I paired it with my denim blue DVF heels I purchased at Moss Designer Consignment and my pearl Shrimps dupe box bag I scored on Etsy. The real thing is on sale on The RealReal. See it here. Read more about consigning with The RealReal here.
