Happy 2021 everyone! We made it!
My first Instagram post of the year listed a few Intentions and Goals for the next 12 months, all of which revolve around taking better care of myself both mentally and physically. I specifically committed to a level of healthcare and exercise, aka, getting back to my pre-pandemic life. Another area that could use a bit of improvement in the name of self-care, is my skincare routine. Granted, I was not wearing a lot of makeup or exposing my skin to as many elements as I normally do when not on lockdown, so any slacking I did has yet to show up on my face. #grateful
But I needed a boost to get back to taking care of my 48-year-old skin to the level it deserves. That is why I was excited when one of my favorite affordable, cruelty-free brands, Derma E, #gifted me a box of their Ultra Hydrating products. This line is rich with hyaluronic acid, which seems like a bit of a skincare buzzword -and it is, but for good reason. It helps prevent dry skin (hello winter skin problems), as well as reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
All total, they sent me five products, most of which will be incorporating into my regular routine. Keep reading for my thoughts on each one, but overall Derma E remains one of my favorite lines. Their products feel, smell, and act like some of the more expensive, luxury skincare lines on the market, but stay within a $20-$35 price point.
Hydrating Day Cream & Hydrating Night Cream – Sumptuous is not a word I use often, but it is the first one that comes to mind when I think of these two products. They are just a one-two punch of sumptuous feeling hyaluronic acid creams (plus sumptuous creams is so much better sounding than creamy creams). You just feel the hydration sinking deep into your skin, and after only a few uses, notice a visible difference in texture and appearance. What was once dull, dry, and almost sunken looking now looks fuller and brighter. Sold.
From Derma E – Thoroughly moisturize and plump skin to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles with this ultra-hydrating day/night cream. This fine, silky formula delivers the unmatched hydrating properties of nature’s moisture magnet, hyaluronic acid (HA). A single molecule of HA can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, binding moisture to help plump, soften, smooth, tone, and rehydrate skin. Enriched with anti-aging antioxidants green tea, vitamins C and E, and soothing aloe, this formula helps defend skin from free radicals and the effects of the environment. Ideal for dry, dehydrated skin that needs long-lasting moisture throughout the day/night, this cream delivers maximum hydration while helping diminish the signs of aging for softer, smoother, younger-looking skin.
Ultra-Hydrating Alkaline Overnight Facial – A very lush feeling product that provides extra hydration while you sleep. I especially loved the gentle cooling sensation it gives your skin. I am fully adding this product to my arsenal as a final step before bedtime. Not only do I love what it does to my skin, but it helps me pretend I am being pampered at an actual spa and this is not a bad feeling to have before falling asleep!
From Derma E – This overnight facial gel provides moisture for the skin with a luxurious texture. Hydrating droplets are set within a cooling gel to provide a melting-like sensation when it touches your skin. You get the results of improved hydration and a greater feeling of relaxation for your evening.
Ultra-Hydrating Alkaline Gel Booster – This product is more of a liquid than a gel, which is a little misleading since it is rather runny. I do like the ability to spot treat dry patches with an extra shot of hydration, as well as use it over my entire face. This was the only product that I was on the fence about using long-term just due to the consistency, but it has since found a home in my exercise bag. Not I suggest it as an on-the-go treatment for anyone who exercises outdoors regularly.
From Derma E – Formulated with 4% hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, alkaline water, and vitamin B5, this deeply hydrating booster improves skin’s moisture barrier while diminishing the appearance of fine lines and dull skin.
Hydrating Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Water Eye Gel – Another product with a cooling sensation that instantly helps depuff my eyes, especially in the morning. Plus, fewer wrinkles = younger-looking skin. Enough said.
From Derma E – Formulated with hyaluronic acid, botanical antioxidants, and alkaline water, this hydrating eye gel works to balance moisture around the eye contour while diminishing puffiness and energizing the skin. Hydrate, cool, and depuff your eyes for a brighter, younger appearance.
Thank you @DermaE for sending this generous package and getting me excited about skincare and my self-care goals again! And while this was a gifted set, they are a brand I use regularly and will continue to do so.
