Happy February 1st my friends! Long time, no post. Or blog. Or even get out of my pajamas. I had the best of intentions starting around the Christmas and New Year holidays, but we are in a pandemic. Best laid plans and all.

At least it is one that we will never forget. Half the fam was quarantined with Covid on the second floor of our house, and we needed zoom to open presents so we could pretend things were normal….. But everyone is happy and healthy now, which is all that matters.

Had I been able to post to social media, you would have seen that I had a second-hand holiday, as far as my outfits go. What was supposed to be my Christmas dinner outfit was this silver dress from Alice & Olivia I have had for quite a few years. I paired it with my nude Perfect Pump from Sarah Flint NYC. The sparkly little Lucite purse was a delightful thrift find from a few years ago, as well.

My plan for NYE dressing was kicked up PJ dressing, a trend that is not going away anytime soon. It started with this thrifted Catherine Malandrino blazer in a fun print that seemed both retro and modern. The pants are thrifted black satin PJ bottoms, as were the belt and sparkly shoes.

Other highlights include our column going live with my new fashion trend column, FORECAST which appears in SOCIETY TEXAS, a statewide luxury magazine. Our first column was on holiday dressing, no matter what the event. Our second column was in their bridal issue, so we wrote about which resort trends work for which honeymoon destination. Excited for you to see our Spring/Summer fashion forecast.

But, of course, no holiday would be complete without a thrift trip, the highlight of which was finding these Karl Lagerfeld wedges in the prettiest yellow color for only $12.99. And as our temperatures continue to hover around my age (49 degrees Fahrenheit), I cannot wait to wear them when the temps finally warm up.

The little green number was also a recent thrift find. It would have been great for the holidays, but it can be worn many ways and for many different occasions. Here, I dressed it down with my combat-style boots. Throw on a jean jacket and you have a fun and sparkly yet casual outfit.

All these outfits were styled with my eye on the upcoming 2022 trends for Spring/Summer and beyond. I have mentioned it here before, but it is finally, officially launched!
